Since graduating from University of Oxford in 2008, Kerstin has gained a wealth of experience, working with children and families across multiple settings, including; the NHS, schools and the private child mental health sector. She is an honorary fellow of The British Psychological Society and registered with the UK Health Care Professionals Council.
Kerstin holds both a clinical doctorate and a PhD, which she was awarded for her research focussing on better understanding and improving childhood anxiety. She has worked on clinical trials in the UK and Australia and is passionate about sharing knowledge with others. She has been a guest lecturer at University of Oxford, University College London and University of Exeter, and is an author for Guilford Press USA and Jessica Kingsley Publications.
Kerstin has extensive professional and personal experience of supporting children who are neurodiverse. Kerstin understands the unique and universal challenges that arise from being on the Autistic Spectrum and/or having ADHD, but firmly believes that all children can flourish with the right understanding and support.
Therapeutically, Kerstin draws on a range of evidence-based approaches, including Compassion Focussed CBT, Mindfulness based practices, and therapeutic parenting frameworks. She holds a holistic view of psychological health that recognises biological, systemic and cultural aspects of the human experience, as well as internal thoughts and feelings. Kerstin works collaboratively with families to develop shared understanding of problems and provides strategies and support to enhance psychological well-being.
